We are primarily a no-till or minimal-till conventional operation. This means we work the ground less and maintain proper waterways, drainage, erosion preventing tree-lines and fence rows, and filter strips to conserve soil and water sources like the Mackinaw River and reduce compaction. We also use a limited amount of pesticide and commercial fertilizer. To compensate we use our livestock waste for fertilizer instead. We are licensed applicators and apply our own chemicals which saves cost and reduces exposure to neighboring properties. In addition to green practices on our own farm, we also do custom baling for other farms to help them reduce their carbon footprint.
Cattle
Our cattle are fed silage and hay during winter and pastured in the summer. We have heifers for sale as breeding stock and steers for sale as beef. Different amounts of beef are available.
Ewes & Rams
We have high quality registered Katahdin and Katahdin/Dorper cross ewes and ewe lambs for sale as breeding stock. Our ewes require no shearing and have high weather tolerance and parasite resistance. High quality katahdin cross and registered katahdin ram lambs for breeding stock or meat.
Custom Lumber & Woodworking
We believe in no waste and use every possible piece of wood. We have a vast selection of boards perfect for every craftsman and wood worker, from building a rustic furniture piece to high class products and other woodworking projects. We can also do custom lumber and wood working if desired traits are emailed to us (allow 3-4 months for wood working and ~1 year for lumber unless we have it on hand. Woodworking and lumber can also be treated at no extra cost).
